6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Monday-Thursday

6:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.  Friday

Treatment

Outpatient physical and occupational therapy is available for patients who have moderate to severe physical limitations and who can travel to receive care. Musculoskeletal and neurological dysfunctions, soft tissue, sports medicine, neurologic, fibromyalgia and work related injuries are the most frequent ailments referred to Lombard Physical Therapy.

Other ailments commonly treated in an outpatient setting include:

  • Spinal dysfunction
  • Chronic pain
  • Pain from motor vehicle accidents or other trauma
  • Cumulative trauma disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Hand injuries, surgeries or splinting needs
  • Joint replacement and revisions, (Most common total hip or knee surgeries)
  • Nerve injuries
  • Amputations
  • Sprains and strains
  • Soft tissue disorders
  • Vestibular disorders (Dizziness)
  • Rotator cuff repair
  • Post operative cases
  • Fractures

To meet our goal Genesis Physical Rehabilitation at Lombard provides our patients with the most up-to-date therapeutic services and help the patient return to either their prior level of functioning or to increase their current level of functioning. The center provides outpatient physical therapy and outpatient occupational therapy. All therapy services are provided by highly educated physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapist assistants. All of our therapists stay abreast of the latest techniques and technology in their respective fields by regularly attending continuing education courses. The therapists are supported by a friendly staff of administrative assistants.

Staff

Chris HunterChris Hunter, PT, MPT

Title: Physical Therapist and Clinic Supervisor

School and Year of Graduation: University of Iowa 1998, BS; St. Ambrose 2001, MPT

Specialization/Certification: Chris is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the American Bored of Physical Therapy Specialties. In his current position Chris has the opportunity to treat a variety of patients utilizing an evidence-based approach. Chris specializes in treating clients with orthopedic problems, sports injuries, and post surgical cases. He has had great success in treating all areas of the spine utilizing the most recent outcome measures to ensure optimal evidence-based care. Along with orthopedic clients, Chris has a strong interest in treating clients with vestibular problems and associated balance difficulties.

Community/Recreational Activities: Chris is currently pursuing his Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He enjoys watching Hawkeye sports and helping coach his children's soccer and basketball teams.

Nathan Matje, PT, MPT

Nathan Matje, MPT

Title: Physical Therapist

School and Year of Graduation: St. Ambrose University 2002, MPT

Specialization/Certification: Nathan enjoys working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. He utilizes manual therapy techniques along with functional based therapeutic and proprioceptive exercise training. He also specializes in treating orthopedic conditions.

Community/Recreational Activities: Nathan's interest outside of work include long-course triathlon competitions and watching Hawkeye football.

Abby Hovey, PT, DPT

Title: Physical Therapist

School and Year of Graduation: Luther College 2005, health major and biology minor; The University of Iowa 2007, DPT

Specializations/Certification: Abby enjoys working with a variety of diagnoses, but she is especially interested in the rehabilitation of joint replacements, vestibular conditions, and the complex geriatric patient.

Community/Recreational Activities: Abby is originally from Delhi, Iowa, but now resides in Bettendorf with her husband, Paul, and daughter, Jillian. In her free time, Abby enjoys spending time with family, photography, cooking, and vacationing to Colorado.

Title: Physical Therapist

School and Year of Graduation: University of Northern Iowa 2008, Athletic Training; St. Ambrose University 2010, DPT

Specializations/Certification: Matthew is an Athletic Trainer for the USA women’s Sevens rugby team and the Midwest U23 women’s rugby All-Stars. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and the American Physical Therapy Association.

Community/Recreational Activities: Matthew grew up in Dike, Iowa, and now resides in LeClaire with his wife and dog. He enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing.

Title: Physical Therapist

School and Year of Graduation: University of North Dakota 1984, PT; St. Ambrose University 2005, DPT

Specialization/Certification: Leslie specializes primarily in the occupational health field, focusing on rehabilitation or work-related orthopedic injuries. She also enjoys treating all orthopedic conditions.

Community/Recreational Activities: Leslie enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. In her free time, she also likes hiking, cycling, music and reading.

Aaron Kamla,  PTA

Title: Physical Therapy Assistant

School and Year of Graduation: Black Hawk College 2007, A.S. for Physical Therapy Assistant

Specialization/Certification: Aaron has spent several years working as a PTA at an outpatient orthopedic clinic. Aaron is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Strength and  Conditioning Association.  In addition, he is also a certified personal trainer.

Title: Occupational Therapist

School and Year of Graduation: Wartburg College 1998; St. Ambrose University 2001, Masters in Occupational Therapy

Specialization/Certification: Kari graduated with her masters in occupational therapy in 2001, and she treats a variety of diagnoses at Genesis Physical Rehabilitation.

Community/Recreational Activities: Kari grew up in Lenox, Iowa, and currently calls Davenport home. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. Kari also has an interest in traveling.

Kara Weihler, PT, DPTKara Weihler, PT, DPT

Title: Physical Therapist

School and Year of Graduation: St. Ambrose University 2012, DPT

Specialization/Certification: Kara graduated from St. Ambrose University in 2012 with her doctorate in physical therapy.  In 2013, she began working at Genesis Physical Rehabilitation, and she treats various patients with orthopedic conditions.

Community/Recreational Activities: Kara is originally from the rural Quad Cities where she currently resides. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, running, coaching volleyball, and spending time outdoors gardening, fishing, or hunting.
