If you or a loved one suffers from uncontrolled muscle contractions, spasms, and pain, interfering with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's), transfers and walking, bowel & bladder continence, precise movement control, resulting from a neurological disease process or injury, an evaluation by rehabilitation team members may be beneficial. A comprehensive and individualized plan of care will be developed to help you receive the maximum functional improvement in the shortest time possible.
Specially Trained staff include:
- Board-certified physiatry and rehabilitation neurology physicians
- Surgical specialists (including neurosurgeons and orthopedists) are readily available to consult when surgical procedures are needed for management of spasticity
- Physical Therapists trained in managing spasticity or excessive tone in the legs through exercise, casting,and bracing
- Occupational therapists trained in managing spasticity in the arms and hands, as well as painful shoulders resulting after a stroke, can respond well to exercise, casting, splinting, and adaptive equipment to reduce pain and improve function
- Baclofen Pump to dispense medication to control excessive muscle tone
- Higher level wheelchair functional mobility training
- Orthotists available onsite for bracing needs
