Surgical Services at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt
A surgical suite is available for inpatient and outpatient surgical services allowing area residents the convenience of staying close to home for their outpatient and short-stay surgical procedures. Experienced surgeons from Genesis, Davenport and from Cedar Rapids perform surgery in Dewitt.
Surgeries include, but are not limited to:
- General Surgeries (hernias, gynecology, gall bladder and intestinal tract, breast diseases and endocrine glands)
- Orthopaedic procedures (knee and shoulder arthoscopy, carpal tunnel, hardware removal and ganglion cyst removal on an outpatient basis)
- Gastroenterology (upper and lower endoscopy - upper EGD, colonoscopy)
- Ophthalmologic (cataract surgery) surgeons work directly with local optometrists so diagnosis, surgery, and post-surgical care are provided close to home.
- Podiatry
Major surgery can be provided at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport with the convenience of the pre-admission and follow-up services at GMC, DeWitt.
