Urgent Care Services
The Genesis Convenient Care Clinics provide convenient, urgent care when a visit to your personal physician is not possible. Our scope of service includes urgent care problems only, for example, cold and flu symptoms, sprains and strains, and minor laceration repair. The clinics are staffed with board-certified family practitioners. There is always a doctor on duty. Locations and phone numbers are as follows:

Holidays: Genesis Convenient Care Davenport is always open on holidays, usually from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. We recommend you call first to confirm holiday hours.
The Genesis Convenient Care Clinics provide diagnostic services on site at two locations. Some of the tests we provide include electrocardiograms, pulse oximetry, and general X-rays. All X-rays are sent to Genesis Medical Center for reading by a radiologist. These films are the property of Genesis Medical Center, and if checked out, must be returned to a Genesis facility.
We do not provide continuous care of chronic medical conditions. We do not perform routine preventative health or well child physicals, including general physicals, school physicals, or immunizations. We do not provide fracture care, treat any condition that requires a long term follow-up or is ongoing, such as hypertension or diabetes. If you have one of these conditions, we will refer you back to your private physician or to the appropriate specialist.
Our goal at Genesis Convenient Care is to treat your medical condition as quickly and efficiently as possible. As an urgent care center, our primary responsibility is to serve those with the most serious needs first. We do that through a process called "triage," in which patients are seen by our physician based on the urgency of their medical condition, versus their time of arrival.
A registered nurse will perform an assessment upon each patient's arrival. Based on the nurse's assessment and established medical protocols, you may be sent for diagnostic testing (i.e. strep, screen, X-ray, lab tests, etc.). Then, when you see the physician, he or she can more quickly treat your condition.
Genesis Convenient Care Clinics are smoke free facilities. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to our smoke-free health standard.
Meeting patient needs is the basic nature of health care. If you believe our clinic personnel have failed to meet your reasonable expectations, please discuss your concern with any member of our staff. If they can't resolve the problem satisfactorily, we invite you to contact our clinic manager, at 563-421-3823.
You may also contact the Genesis Medical Center patient advocate, who serves as an evaluator of the quality and appropriateness of our services. To contact the Genesis patient advocate please call the Quality Department at 563-421-7047 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. If you are unable to reach the clinic manager or the patient advocate, please leave a message, and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
Insurance & Financial Policy
Our Genesis Convenient Care staff is available to help you with your financial inquiries. Billing assistance and payment areas are available at both Genesis Convenient Care locations, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Payment of all charges is due at the time of service, unless payment arrangements are made. Complete insurance information will be accepted in lieu of payment. If you do not have an insurance card or form with you, we will assume you do not have insurance. Genesis Health Group Financial Services will send out a monthly billing statement and is happy to answer any questions at 563-355-9200. You may receive one or more separate bills for each service utilized at Genesis Convenient Care. Each bill covers a separate service. As a courtesy to you, Genesis Convenient Care will bill your insurance when complete information is provided. Please remember these points:
- Be sure to bring your insurance card to the clinic. If you forget, please call the Genesis Convenient Care Clinic with the needed information. We need to keep a current copy of your insurance information on file.
- You should determine whether Genesis Health System participates in your insurance plan. If you are uncertain, contact your insurance company.
- Insurance verification by Genesis staff does not guarantee payment. Contact your insurance representative for coverage and request their response in writing. Know your policy. Benefits change frequently. If you do not receive an explanation of benefits (EOB) for payment from your insurance carrier within a reasonable period of time, you should contact them to check the status of payment.
It is difficult to quote an exact price for services, since each patient receives individualized care tailored to their specific needs. We will be happy to quote a price range, with the understanding that the price is only an estimate and may vary.
