The Genesis Center for Weight Management is the region's only Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, as recognized by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). What sets the Genesis program apart is the continuum of care provided to patients, from introductory classes to pre- and post-surgical consultations with a variety of specialists and ongoing psychological counseling.

Qualifying for Surgery

 

The goal of bariatric surgery is to induce and maintain permanent loss of a least half of the preoperative excess body weight, improving health and reducing weight-related health risks. Only patients who meet strict pre-surgery criteria are scheduled for surgery.
