How can I get the COVID-19 vaccine?

COVID-19 vaccines are now ready and being made available in phases, based on guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the state health departments.

MyGenesis Patient Portal

You can still also use the MyGenesis patient portal to self-schedule. Using the portal will be a shorter registration time when you visit the clinic for your vaccination. To access the portal you must have been to a Genesis provider, convenient care, emergency room or clinic at some point in your lifetime.

16+ Eligible for Vaccinations

At this time, in both Iowa and Illinois, those 16 and up are able to get their COVID vaccinations set by the State Health Departments. IOWA | ILLINOIS.

Can I get the vaccine?

When will the vaccine be available to everyone?

The vaccine is currently available to anyone aged 16 and above.

Will the vaccines change my DNA?

DNA resides in the nucleus of cell. mRNA never enters the nucleus of cell. The cell breaks down and gets rid of the mRNA soon after it does its job.

When the vaccine is available, should I receive it?

Genesis recommends that all vaccine recipients discuss their medical history with a primary care provider before receiving the vaccine.

Is the vaccine available to everyone in my family?

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine as approved for those 16 years of age and over. The Moderna vaccine is 18 and older.

What is the cost to receive a vaccine?

Vaccine purchased with taxpayer dollars will be given to Americans at no cost. However, vaccine providers may chare an administration fee, covered by most insurance, or, for uninsured patients, by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Provider Relief Fund.
