I have chosen a career where I know I'm making a difference in the lives of others. I feel blessed to wake up every day and go to a career that I love. I make it a priority to view my patients as a whole person so that I may better understand their needs and struggles they may be facing when it comes to receiving care. Whether there are language barriers, transportation issues, or other socioeconomic issues, all of these things impact health and compliance with medications and care. I enjoy being able to help identify these barriers so that we can optimize the patient outcome. I am also passionate about educating patients on their diagnoses. The caregiver and patient are a team. When a patient feels comfortable asking questions they leave my office with a solid understanding of their care plan, the outcome for the patient will be better.
Listening to truly understand the needs, priorities, and concerns of my patients is one of my primary philosophies. I view my patients as an entire human being, not just a diagnosis. There are many aspects that impact the health of an individual and these things all need to be considered when providing care. I have known since a young age that I wanted to practice medicine. It is my love for helping others and knowing that I'm making a positive impact on the lives of other people that have interested me in the field of medicine. I love working with people and meeting people from cultures different than my own.

Areas Of Interest
In addition to occupational medicine, I also am passionate about family medicine. I have cared for patients from birth throughout the life span. This is an experience that I truly enjoy as each age group has a variety of needs.
I spend the majority of my free time attending my children's sporting and musical events. I enjoy running road races, working out, hiking, traveling to warm and sunny destinations, cooking, practicing the Spanish language, and playing the piano. I value any opportunity to submerge myself into other cultures in order to understand their needs and priorities on a level that is deeper than what tourism alone reveals.
