I enjoy really getting to know my patients as they go through a course of therapy, and making an impact on their daily lives. It is satisfying to know a patient's quality of life is improved because of goals I've helped them reach.
I was inspired to become a physical therapist because it combined education and the medical field (I originally wanted to be a teacher or a doctor). That intention was confirmed while attending PT sessions with my father after his hip replacement surgeries. I would think about what interventions I would choose to treat the patient; then I knew PT was the right field for me!
