Lori Claypool graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. She served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves, where she held the rank of Captain at the time of her honorable discharge in 1997.

She has grown twin sons. She enjoys fly fishing, travel, boating, her cabin in Michigan, and the fine arts. Before coming to Genesis, she practiced in Jefferson City, Mo.
