I am passionate about quality, safety, and delivering an exceptional patient experience.
My father was a physician, and according to my mother, I wanted to be a doctor since I was quite young. I view myself as a servant leader and enjoy the process of healing patients and building strong, trusting, and compassionate relationships with them.

Areas Of Interest
I am proficient in all aspects of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, including coronary bypass, valve surgery, aneurysm surgery, lung and esophageal surgery.
I view my profession as a calling, and it is a privilege to take care of my patients and their families. I have built cardiac surgical unit processes and procedures impacting the full life cycle of patient care from admissions to discharge and facilitating shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, skiing, and sailing with my family. I have participated in triathlons, qualifying for and competing at the Age Group National Championships. Mountaineering is another passion of mine. I’ve climbed Pico de Orizaba in Mexico and Mt. Rainier and the Tetons in the US. Through my affiliation with The Explorers Club, I’ve been paired with combat wounded veterans and supported their dream to scale mountains as well. My family is a very important part of my life, and I enjoy spending time with my wife of 40 years, six children, and four grandchildren.
