I love to celebrate people’s victories and provide support with defeats. If I can at least make one positive difference in a person’s day, then I feel accomplished.
I am a big believer in partnership and compassion. I believe in patient autonomy and strive to have my patients understand what is going on with them and why. I hope my patients feel that they are being cared for and not simply treated. If a problem remains unclear I want to work together to try and find an answer. I also hope to motivate my patients to adopt positive changes for their health. Often information gets lost with difficult medical jargon so I also see myself as an interpreter and try my best to be direct and put complex processes into everyday speech. I want patients to know their current health status. I am strongly into preventive care and screenings (as the old saying goes “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”) and try to follow evidence based guidelines. Likewise, I try to be mindful on the use of medications. They should be justified and at minimal effective doses. I also look to consider controlling cost thru the use of generics and savings programs if available.

Areas Of Interest
As a family physician I see a broad array of scenarios. I am interested specifically in diabetes, high blood pressure, preventative medicine, and population health.
I am the first person in my family to go into medicine as a profession, but it was not always my plan. I am interested in many topics including music and comedy but unfortunately I’m not a strong singer nor am I particularly funny. I also enjoy science and history and I found my path into medicine thru an interest in Biology/Biotechnology and Psychology. The way I prefer to spend my personal time is being with my family and friends. Family is very important to me. I also enjoy beer and wine and am a Chicago Bulls fan (sadly).
