I get satisfaction from a job well done. Anesthesia allows me to take care of one patient at at time and I strive to provide the best experience for the patient in what is one of the most stressful periods of time in their lives.
I knew that I wanted to be a doctor from a very early age and pursued that end by gaining admittance to an accelerated medical program out of high school. I have never wavered in my desire to be a physician and never saw it as a way to get wealthy but as a means to help people in need of healthcare. I treat every patient equally and pride myself on being comfortable taking care of the sickest and most complicated patients. I believe that medicine is best provided in a cooperative team environment and I respect and appreciate the role that every member plays from the support staff to the facility personnel to the CEO.

Areas Of Interest
I was trained as a cardiovascular anesthesiologist with subspecialty training in critical care. While I no longer actively practice those fields the education and experience allows me to take care of the highest acuity patients. My current interests lie in the provision of anxiety and pain management in the acute surgical setting and I have striven to accomplish this by learning to perform nerve blocks, especially for orthopedic procedures and by assessing and alleviating stress and anxiety for the patient and staff.
I have been married for over 30 years to a wonderful, supportive woman from Chicago. We have three successful and highly educated children, and several dogs, who we spoil as if they were human. I moved to the Quad Cities area two and a half years ago from the Chicagoland area where I attended school and practiced anesthesia for more than 25 years. I am a native of New York but I have embraced the Midwest as my home. I am an avid, though not very good, golfer and I like to cook for my family. In our free time my wife and I love to travel, especially overseas, and have had some amazing experiences in foreign lands.
