Nicholas V. Augelli, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.C.C.P.
Dr. Augelli grew up in Niles, Illinois, and attended medical school at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine, graduating in 1984. He completed his surgical residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan in 1989 and a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, in 1989 thru 1992.
Dr. Augelli is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians, a member of the Scott County Medical Society, and a member of the Genesis Heart Institute.
Dr. Augelli joined the Genesis Cardiac Surgeons in August 2004. He is board certified in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He is licensed in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Dr. Augelli performs many types of cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries including, but not limited to:
- Valve surgery, repair and replace
- Modified Maze procedure for treatment of atrial fibrillation
- Coronary artery bypass surgery
- Cancer surgery of the lungs
- Aneurysm surgery of the thoracic and abdominal aorta, inclusive of endo stent placement
- Peripheral vascular surgery
- Dialysis access
Dr. Augelli is married and has four children.
