Genesis Medical Centers Earn National Recognition As “Top Performers’’
Genesis Medical Center, Davenport and Genesis Medical Center, Silvis have been recognized as “Top Performers’’ for their adherence to evidence-based clinical processes.
The Genesis Medical Centers are the only Quad Cities hospitals listed as “Top Performers.’’
Hospitals were recognized in the 2013 Improving America’s Hospitals report. A total of 1,099 hospitals, 77 percent more than last year, were named top performers.
Genesis Medical Center, Silvis was also recognized as a top performer in 2011.
The Top Performer list is based on an aggregation of accountability measure data reported to The Joint Commission during the 2012 calendar year. The list of Top Performer organizations is available to the public at www.jointcommission.org.
Genesis Medical Center, Davenport was recognized for achieving excellence in performance in heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.
Genesis Medical Center, Silvis was recognized for achieving excellence in performance in heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care in 2012.
To be recognized as a top performer, a hospital must meet or exceed 95 percent performance thresholds for its composite performance on all reported accountability measures, as well as its performance on every single accountability measure from its data report to The Joint Commission.
