2014 Trauma Conference
A-Z and Everything In Between
Genesis Health System will be hosting a Trauma Conference on Sept. 19 to educate emergency medical service professionals on the essential components involved in a variety of scenarios.
“This will be an informative continuing education opportunity for anyone who potentially touches the lives of trauma patients and provides care for them,’’ said Jody Johnston-Mohr, continuing medical education coordinator for Genesis Health System. “There will be something for every interest.’’
The conference will feature seven speakers from different medical organizations and will cover 22 different learning objectives, including emergency surgical procedures, tourniquets, and medically necessary transfers, among others.
The event is sponsored by Genesis Health System, HCR ManorCare and, Southeast National Bank. It will take place on at the Waterfront Convention Center, 2021 State Street in Bettendorf. The conference starts at 7:30 a.m. and will end at 3:45 with a wine and cheese reception. Cost is $25 per person, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, breaks, and the CME/CEU credits.
This event is intended for medical service professionals who treat trauma patients, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, and social workers. The event will provide various levels of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Educational Unit (CEU) credits for those who attend.
