Genesis Medical Center, Silvis Top-Ranked For Outstanding Patient Quality
For the fifth time in six years, Genesis Medical Center, Silvis has earned national distinction for outstanding patient safety and clinical outcomes with the Midas+ Platinum Quality Award.
GMC-Silvis earned the recognition from Midas+, a Xerox Company, by being a top-performing hospital in areas such as low re-admission rates, low mortality, average length of stay and heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia care. The hospital was recognized among those with fewer than 100 patients each day.
The recognition was presented recently at the annual symposium of Midas+ Solutions, a Xerox Company.
The company recognizes industry leadership and hospital excellence based on achievement and data-driven performance. The award is granted to those organizations scoring in the top 5 percent among their eligible peers in the Midas+ Comparative Database, which consists of nearly 800 hospitals.
“Our patients can consistently expect an outstanding level of care at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis that ranks among the top in the nation,” said Theresa Main, Interim President of Genesis Medical Center, Silvis. “Earning this award for the fifth time in six years is a testament to the quality of care provided on a daily basis by physicians, nurses and other clinical staff at the hospital.”
She added that a hospital with fewer than 100 patients per day must be extremely consistent in its quality of care to earn the Platinum Quality Award because there is more variation when just one patient doesn’t receive the quality of care expected.
