Westwing Place Recognized As Top U.S. Nursing Home
Westwing Place at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a Best Nursing Home.
Westwing Place, a 77-bed facility attached to the DeWitt hospital, earned a 5-star overall rating based on Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data. Nursing homes earning an overall rating of 4.5 stars qualified as U.S. News Best Nursing Homes.
Nursing homes were rated from 1 to 5 stars in four measures.
Westwing Place was rated 5 stars for health inspections; 4.3 stars in medical care and quality measures; and, 4 stars for staffing.
No nursing homes in the immediate Quad Cities received 5-star overall ratings.

“Quality ratings are a tool individuals and families can use when they are considering a senior living facility for a loved one.
“This is also recognition for the work of the staff, which has the philosophy that they are caring for a member of the family or a close friend. Sometimes that is actually the case.’’
Westwing residents have convenient access to all hospital services at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt, including radiology, laboratory, therapy services, emergency services, and skilled services within the hospital.
Westwing has undergone a multi-phase renovation project. Improvements included: new wood-look vinyl flooring; slip-resistant tile in the restrooms; new mini-blinds and cubicle curtains; new energy-efficient lighting; improved accessibility for sinks and toilets; new energy-efficient windows, vinyl wall and door protection; and, new cabinetry.
