Genesis Hosts End Of Life Conference

Genesis Hospice and Genesis Medical Center will host the annual End of Life Conference on Friday, April 28 at Waterfront Convention Center, Bettendorf.

The conference is intended to inform medical staff, health care workers, clergy, social workers and hospice and palliative care staff about end of life issues, including grief, hospice care and planning.

Genesis President and CEO Doug Cropper will discuss the Genesis vision and assessment of health care needs in the region at 8 a.m.

Topics will include pre-planned funerals; the grief process and coping with grief; identifying patients who could benefit from grief support services; and, the history and mission of the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

The conference will be held from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Cost is $40 per person, including continental breakfast and lunch.
