Genesis Hosts Grief Support Course

Genesis Grief Support is offering Understanding Grief's Journey, a free, four-session course beginning March 7 at the Esperanza Center.

Additional course dates are March 14, 21 and 28 from 5:30-7 p.m. The course will be available in English and Spanish.

Rev. Jon Yarian, chaplain and grief support coordinator for Genesis Grief Support will be the instructor. Translation will be provided by Translations Unlimited.

Topics will include Realistic Expectations About Grief; Understanding Grief’s Many Experiences; When Loss Leads To Additional Loss; and, Healing Support When Faced With Change.

Esperanza Center is the former Ericsson Elementary School located at 335 5th Ave., Moline.

“Grief is a multi-faceted experience that can be different for each individual,’’ Yarian explained. “This course will provide paths and expectations for all individuals coping with grief.’’
