Newly Renovated Crosstown Square Hosts Events
Crosstown Square independent living has a new look after undergoing a $450,000 makeover.
There will be a ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the “new’’ Crosstown Square on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 4-6 p.m. and an open house on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 1-4 p.m.
Crosstown Square is located at 900 Crosstown Road, Silvis.
Virtually every inch of the 56-unit Crosstown Square was touched by extensive renovations.
“Floor to ceiling. Nearly every square foot of Crosstown Square has been updated … walls, flooring, paint, entries, landscaping, entries and reconfigured apartments,’’ explained Julie VanWinkle, care transition supervisor. “We have the same benefits of living at Crosstown Square as we did before but the look is now vastly different.’’
Apartments were configured to provide more space with more amenities. The reconfiguration includes the availability of two-bedroom apartments. Both of the two-bedroom apartments have at least two baths, zero entry bathrooms, walk-in closets and space for stackable washer and dryer.
VanWinkle said benefits of living at Crosstown Square include: Three meals daily; planned onsite and community activities; a continuum of care available; and, a full-service hospital on site.
“The question we hear often from residents is, ‘why didn’t we move here sooner?’’’ WanWinkle said. “We hope the community will want to see the new Crosstown Square.’’
