Genesis extends contract with Cerner
Genesis Health System has signed an extended contract with Cerner through 2031 to provide electronic health records, information technology operations and IT staff management.
As part of the extended contract, Cerner will provide new solutions in several areas, including Oncology and Pathology.
"Our organizations have worked tirelessly together to improve and grow electronic health record keeping for the clinicians and patients we serve,'' said Rob Frieden, vice president of Information Services and chief information officer, Genesis Health System.
Cerner will support Genesis strategic growth in patient care delivery network over the next few years. The extended contract, originated in 2015, will also represent significant annual cost-savings.
“The 10-year extension of the Genesis and Cerner relationship shows the value of two organizations coming together under a strategic alignment and working toward a common mission,” said Matt Wildman, senior vice president of Client Relationships, Cerner. “Together, with longstanding ITWorks clients like Genesis, we are helping improve healthcare through technology and I am excited for what the future holds.”
