Genesis Medical Center Brings Robotic Technology to the Quad Cities

Orthopedic surgeons and the surgical teams at Genesis Medical Center-Davenport and Genesis Medical Center-Silvis are now offering the Zimmer Biomet’s ROSA® Knee System, which brings innovative robotic technology to total joint replacement to help surgeons personalize surgical procedures for their patients.

ORA Orthopedics’ fellowship-trained total joint replacement surgeon, Ryan Pokorney, D.O., will perform the first ROSA® (Robotic Surgical Assistant) total joint replacement at Genesis Medical Center-Davenport on April 13.

ROSA Knee is a robotically-assisted surgical system designed to help perform total knee replacement surgery. The surgical system includes features to assist with bone resections and assessing the state of soft tissues in order to facilitate implant positioning intraoperatively.

The data provided by ROSA Knee assists with complex decision-making and enables surgeons to use computer and software technology to control and move surgical instruments, allowing for greater precision and flexibility during procedures. The robotics system provides a high-tech tool for our joint replacement surgeons to help ensure every knee replacement is optimized.
