Game Preview by Steve Tappa, Shootout Historian

A couple of defensively-determined clubs that graduated their only double-figure scorers from last season square off in the third game of the day. The only returning starter for Pleasant Valley is Carter Cline, but fellow captains Jordan Townsend and Jacob Parker also bring back experience and leadership to a young group for veteran Spartans coach Steve Hillman. UT coach Ryan Webber also returns but one starter, junior point guard Daslah Geadeyan, but his classmate Malykai Trice gained valuable varsity experience as a sophomore last season. Current 10th grader Darius Rogers is the early-season scoring and rebounding leader for the youthful Panthers, who are also seeking season-long development from freshmen De’Vontay Wright and Isaiah Bustos.
