Game Preview by Steve Tappa, Shootout Historian

Game 4’s pairing offers programs accustomed to postseason success that are both eyeing quick reloads this season. Assumption graduated three starters, yet Coach Matt Fitzpatrick believes these Knights have the ingredients needed to break through a two-year substate road block to Iowa’s Elite Eight state finals. Leading the way is 6-foot-5 double-double threat Sean Peeters, who has received Division II scholarship offers from Winona State and McKendree. Peeters is complimented by a cadre of perimeter shooters, including Alleman transfer Dayne Hodge. On the flip side, Moline lost all five starters, including a trio of the three-year variety, but the reinforcements include the latter group’s younger brothers, Michael Billups and Brock Harding. Also among the 11 players who scored for proven Coach Sean Taylor during a 4-0 start were All-Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament performers Ryne Schimmel and Kyle Taylor.
